Thank you!

There are no words to explain how thankful I am.
What started out as an idea came out to be the best thing ever produced by iDR. Our Live Artist Summer Series started off as an idea to bring together up and coming artists in a social environment that friendly enough to the public as well as the art/creative community. As the series evolved so did our network. We have sold several pieces, atleast one in each show! We also cultivated an event that makes networking easier and sociable. Can you believe someone got an interview for a job at our event….now that makes every bit of stress worth it.

There are so many people to thank. Especially Orson Restaurant, they are beyond great…great to work with and great overall. They have an awesome staff that delivers great service! Honestly try their duck fat fries, its deliiiiish!

Thanks to all the artists August Photographers: Albert Lam, Jeffrey Dojillio, and Todd Posadas. July’s Multimedia Artists: Orly and JBoo. June’s Aerosol Artists: Wes Wong, Tenfold, Satyr, & Drama. Thank you to the Make Up and Hair Artists that worked on our models for the August Show, CHA and April. Thank you to our Models (Adeanna, Christina Cross, Elizabeth Moody, and Michelle Ruiz) that made our encore party HOT HOT HOT! Thanks to the DJs that rocked the house: Sake 1, Mr. Mention, and Mike Nice.

and Congrats to Groop Swoop for participating in our raffle giveaway! They won a 2 hour photoshoot including 60 illuminous photos with light retouching.

….until next time!
(the Aug video is in the work and will be up shortly!)

Thursday night Pier 54 in the meat packing district turns into a makeshift venue for indie performances during the summer. I made my way to one of these yesterday night to see Yeasayer play live and for FREE!

This was the best free show of the season in NYC this year. I have been to many free shows this summer and this way the best so far . They did incredible renditions of all their greatest songs and came back for an encore performance. Needless to say this is a band that is just as good if not better live.

Bat For Lashes

Natasha Khan’s costume at the Bat for Lashes show last night was so fantastic that one look had me mesmerized.

Indeed this songstress has captivated the music world since releasing her first album in 2006 (Fur and Gold) and now the critically acclaimed Two Suns ( released in April) has cemented her status as a powerhouse in the industry.

Watching her perform at Webster Hall was like wandering into a Pagan ritual with a gorgeous goddess singing to her adoring believers.

over the top ? maybe.

But you had to be there and since this show sold out within weeks it is highly unlikely that you were.

There was instrtuments of all types, candles, face paint, and a howling wolf in the background.

Her performance was a 10 out of 10.

i recommend “Daniel” and “Sleep Alone “

According to my friends’ twitter and facebook updates who were more than pleased with Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce tour, you can go home and relive every concert moment and record new and improved Single Ladies YouTube videos by wearing Thierry Mugler inspired clothes. This is all according to WWD, in which Beyonce and Mom Tina  are launching a new over-the-top and embellished line entitled…Sasha Fierce.

As long as Sasha Fierce is not emblazoned in gold on the butt or pockets or sleeve or front, back, and sides…I may buy in to get my “Diva” on…

DJ Cat LUVS Paris Mix

djcat DJ Cat LUVS Paris Mix

We recently got emails from this chick, DJ Cat. She not only spins and tours worldwide, but she is also an accomplished lyricist, producer and singer. DJ Cat NYC secured her first New York club residencies at nightlife impresario Amy Sacco’s Lot 61 and Bungalow 8. This along side Vogue Magazine events, Marc Jacobs soirees, Calvin Klein fashion shows and East Village punk rock bars, put DJ Cat at the forefront of the New York City party scene. She has been featured on NBC TV’s ‘Saturday Night Live’, was named one of NYC’s 10 hottest dj’s, and has also been featured on SONY’S Animax network.

She is currently working with electro punk producer Automatic Panic on her first artist album. DJ Cat has also launched her own record label, Kinetika Records, while at the same time continuing to bring a new and fresh sound to dance floors worldwide. You can expect to see and hear Cat’s name more and more as she carves her unique niche on the dance music scene of today and the future.
