A Winter Kate jacket layered over a camisole and vest with House of Harlow 1960 accessories
According to WWD, Nicole Richie’s contemporary women’s line will finally be hitting stores February 2010. I’ve always loved Nicole Richie’s style (post-Hilton) including her accessibly priced House of Harlow 1960 accessories line. Thankfully, I don’t have to wait until I’m pregnant to wear her pieces (Nicole Richie for A Pea in the Pod if that didn’t make any sense).
Richie describes who her line is for and how I believe every woman should aspire to dress:
“She is a woman like me: She does not look at labels; she knows how to mix and match. The pieces can be dressed up, made casual, but most importantly, they provide the wearer a means of self-expression and fun.” -WWD.com

So far this one’s my fave, definitely screams Blair all over it. I know, let’s be Gossip Girls for Halloween. Peep the slideshow and pick out your favorite character frock.

Over the Knee definitely on trend for the Fall, but at it’s rumored $345 price, that seems a little to steep for being a diffusion capsule collaboration. What do you think?
The 90’s are officially back, and I never thought I’d be be happy to welcome its return. I remember wearing a lot of velvet and crochet? among other things, back during these questionable fashion years…but ShopBop has definitely put Velvet in a new light. I never thought this fabric could look this good?!
Guess I’ll be adding another thing to my Fall 09′ Wishlist.

Could it be?! I can’t believe it?! According to Refinery29, Rodarte will be dropping into Target stores on December 20th, where pieces will range from $10-$80. I can’t wait!
So mark your calendars!

The September issue is probably the most important issue of the year for fashion magazines since it features everything that is coming up for the Fall. The September issue is packed with great ads & the one ad that I cannot help but stop and pause every time I come across it is Madonna’s Louis Vuitton F/W 2009-10 Ad campaigns.
She looks absolutely gorgeous, probably the best I’ve ever seen her, and absolutely, without a doubt, the people at LV have airbrushed the life out of her. But whatevs, she looks good.

According to my friends’ twitter and facebook updates who were more than pleased with Beyonce’s I Am…Sasha Fierce tour, you can go home and relive every concert moment and record new and improved Single Ladies YouTube videos by wearing Thierry Mugler inspired clothes. This is all according to WWD, in which Beyonce and Mom Tina are launching a new over-the-top and embellished line entitled…Sasha Fierce.
As long as Sasha Fierce is not emblazoned in gold on the butt or pockets or sleeve or front, back, and sides…I may buy in to get my “Diva” on…

With the sun making extended appearances in the City, I think summer is finally here! That and this Alexander Wang sample sale are just enough for me to forgive New York for inflicting its June Gloom upon us for so long!
Be prepared for long lines…wear a tube top and shorts and you can tan while you wait!

If I manage to leave with anything at a decent price I’m pretty sure I’ll be happily prancing out of there like this too…
I’m sure you all have come across Jane Aldridge’s fabulous blog Sea of Shoes and have already heard of the capsule collection she did with Urban right? Well, I thought I’d take the time to highlight it because it is actually worth mentioning. If there is any blogger out there that deserves to design it’s definitely this girl. At only 17, she is great at styling, and knows what she wants in a shoe.
I am anxious to see the collection in person next month and I just hope that they don’t fall into the same price point range as her own personal shoe collection!
Here’s the press release and pics from her site Sea of Shoes, where she is currently reporting from Tokyo. Lucky girl!
“Jane Aldridge may be just 17 years old, but the Dallas-based fashion blogger has an impressive global following on her personal style blog, Sea of Shoes. “Ever since I’ve reached my full shoe size I’ve been fanatical about collecting shoes,” says Aldridge. “That’s how my blog got started, as a means of chronicling my addiction to beautiful footwear and the evolution of my personal style,” she adds.
The magnetic Texas teen has to wear a school uniform five days a week with a one and a half inch heel rule, but outside of class, flats are the last thing you’ll see her wearing. From YSL cage heels and Chanel bow-tie booties to Margiela clogs, Aldridge pairs her favored heels with equally envied outfits. And now, she has found another creative outlet for her passion; designing shoes herself, with the help of Urban Outfitters.
Launching next month, J. Aldridge by Sea of Shoes is a capsule collection of three styles, exclusive to Urban Outfitters. Dramatic knee-high brown leather peep-toe boots feature top-stitched detailing and lacing at the front, black gladiator heels with studs and twin buckle straps, and lace-up, pointy skimmers. “I’m really excited to bring my designs to Urban Outfitters,” says Aldridge. “The inspiration for this collection is a mish-mash of some of the elements of my favorite pairs—sort of Victoriana meets gladiator warrior.”

This collection definitely screams Jane Aldridge, but I’m holding out for the Brown Peep Toe knee highs

Anyone out there watch Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist? If not you must rent!! Don’t want to give to much away, but it’s one of my favorite movies that has you on an adventure through New York City, and you only wish you were actually doing it with them, or creating your own adventure. Well, as of last week, the masterminds behind Rachel Nasvik’s handbags has us New Yorkers running all over the City looking for her handbags stashed in obscure places with only her Twitters and Blog to give us clues.
But don’t worry, there’s still time to join the fun!!
“Welcome to our world of mischief and fun– we’ve got a limited edition run of 96 hand-printed Alice Bond bags which are being sent out into the NYC night to find their owners. Stocked with all you need for a night out, plus a mix of tunes to start the night off the right way, we’re hoping that you appreciate our sense of whimsy and our intention of starting the summer off with nights full of surprises, good vibes, and good times. Enjoy our story as it unfolds….” http://wherethenighttakesyou.blogspot.com/
Magnolia’s Bakery
I am one of the biggest bargain hunters, I absolutely hate paying full price if I can avoid it. I’ll go straight to the clearance racks even at Forever 21 and Target! However, an Impulse Buy, is that moment where you just gotta have it. That means, you don’t care what the price is (within reason), you don’t take time to think about it, no time to comparison shop at other stores or on-line. Instead you come overwhelmed with that giddy, excited, gotta have it, can’t live without it feeling!! Oooh I’m getting chills just writing this!
Personally, my impulse buys center upon one-of-a-kind, unique jewelry pieces that are made by local artists and sold at your local vintage shops, flea markets, street vendors, or your fave neighborhood boutique. Something I know cannot be duplicated, no matter how hard Forever 21 tries to copy it!
Today, this brightened up my June gloom rainy rather be under my covers Day:

isn’t it lovely?
I absoluetly heart butterflies. I believe I am the last genuine person who appreciates the beauty of these creatures, which have been tainted by all the butterfly tramp stamped girls all over the world =(.
But I think this is such an interesting beautiful piece, in a kinda Geeky Science Project way.
Enough about my jewelry Impulse Buys…what are your personal impulse buys? iDR wants to know!
