Today one of our artists emailed me an affordable way to use plywood instead of canvas. Its affordable and its just as good. Here are his instructions:
HomeDepot is probably the best place to go as they have cheap plywood & mis-tinted enamel paint. Instructions:
- Grab whatever type of plywood is most affordable and relatively flat (some wood curves and is not a good surface) sizes 4×6ft or bigger.
- Grab a $5 can of mis-tinted enamel paint (paint guy should be able to point you there). Doesnt matter what color (as long as its enamel), its just to prime the surface for more paint.
- Might have to grab a roller handle and sponge (cheapest will do), if you dont have one already. Just roll the paint on fairly even, but really, as long as it covers all the wood you are good.
- Let it dry overnight!
