At my school’s new student retreat I couldn’t help notice this one guy for 2 reasons….1) He was 1 of 3 other Filipino’s (including me) in the program, and 2) he was wearing an Upper Playground T-shirt. I thought to myself, he’s got to be from the Bay! Well it wasn’t until weeks later (I was too shy to go up to him and say your Filipino, so am I, and oh btw are you from the Bay?) that I finally caught up with him and discovered that he wasn’t from the Bay, but he did work in SF for 2 years. So then we talked a little about Upper Playground, other Bay Area spots, and then Sushi House in Alameda! And then I got all homesick…
Anyways, as it turns out, according to NYMag, Upper Playground is coming to play on the East Coast. So go check it out…and I’m just curious…do we still like Upper Playground? I guess so if they can open up another store in NYC, despite the economy. Just curious.
